February Goals!
(February 2025)

"My music career has gotten so much better. I'm doing so well at piano and getting better at singing. In band I'm getting better at trumpet. I got into district 2 chorus! Im so happy that i'm apart of this gt music so then i can express myself with all of the music that I love!" - Wynter C.

"In band we are working on 3 songs as a group. The songs are Jurassic Park Theme, Vulcens forge, and Eye of the Tiger. I like playing these songs because not only are they musically challenging, they are fun and for the most part they are recognisable. Although all of these songs are great, there is something I am more excited about. Sophia, Lilly, and I were all chosen to play the song Golden Hour by JVKE. the reason I am the most excited about this song is because I was one of the 3 players that Mr. Brain choose to play a challenging song. Him choosing me over a lot of really good players just gives me an extra confidence boost, just like when I got chosen for GT music class." - Eliot G.

"I have been working on a song called it had to be you, for the month of february. It's been going pretty good. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it, but it's still going well. If you haven't heard the song it's kind of a jazzy song and it's in a pretty famous movie  called When Harry Met Sally. That's mostly what I have been working on for this month and I should have it done by the end of the month." - Jasper M.

"I have been getting really good at learning new songs I try to pick at least one song I don't know the lyrics that well that way I can spend more time practicing that song and then I pick one I know better that way I spend a little less of time on that one and using youtube music helps I use the karaoke version that way I can try without the singer singing it. I also use the normal music first when I don't know the song as well so I can hear what it sounds like first so thats my blog." - Makayla M.

January Goals!
(January 2025)

"I think that my goal this month is going  pretty well. I've got to know some songs with the black keys and it has become easier. I am very proud of myself for how I have done. The black keys are becoming kinda normal to use now" - Wynter C.

"On my goal, I am doing okay. I have not been able to practice very much, which means I am not good at my left hand. Besides that, I am pretty good at the right hand part in the song I chose. So, overall I'm doing okay." - Eliot G.

"In my goal I have come along well. I don’t have the poisoning park full of music so it's hard to practice that but I’ve moved to the next song to practice. The song is called had to be you which is coming along well even though I haven't practiced it in a while before this month so I'm getting back the memory of playing. So far I have gotten half way into it, well." - Jasper M.

"I'm really proud of myself. I'm really good at singing with the piano. I would like to practice more of it. I think I'm doing really well in my musical career. I'm excited to see how far I can go with it. So far my favorite types of music are pop country, country, pop,art music, vocal music, and that's about it I hope I get better in my musical career." - Makayla M.

"January has been going well. I learned an intermediate song called lady fingers and it is very fun to play. I've also been able to play much higher than before. The song I am trying to learn right now is a song called It's Been a Long, Long Time. It is a very fun song and is very majestic." - Galen S.

Meet the Crew!

“So far in my music career I have had lots of fun with my music this year. I Have tried new instruments and found out which one I liked the most. Music has made me so much happier through this year. Right now in my music career I am playing the piano, singing, doing chorus, and I'm playing the trumpet in band class. Right now I would say that I'm doing pretty good but I could work on singing a little bit more. I usually listen to pop music but also a little bit of country music." - Wynter C.

"My favorite type of music to listen to is pop. I like this type of music because it is usually happy and upbeat. Although  I like to listen to pop, I like to play classical music. I like to play classical music because it's challenging but not too challenging." - Eliot G.

"My favorite type of music is jazz or classical, because most songs in both of them fit together and are very good to listen to. With jazz it's more fast paced and with most not all classical flows together. I either hope to be in a big band like the boston orchestra with trombone/piano or the new york filmharmonic which is a stretch. Thats just a dream though if i try my hardest i could get in but thats everyday all day practice." - Jasper M.

"For my music blog, I sang, "Lost Boy" and I think I did pretty well on it. I think I could do better in some parts but also I found that recording myself in pieces that I wasn't doing well in recording and trying more and more on it. Otherwise, I'm proud of my accomplishment the lower parts were a bit hard because your switching to higher notes to lower notes. That's my blog byyyyeeee." - Makayla M.

"In the month of December for Gt music I have actually surpassed my goals by several months. So I had to change my goals to match what I was actually doing. One thing I have struggled on with the trumpet is anything past high D. But with practice I managed to play high F#. Although not very well. i enjoy the trumpet and hope to keep playing and practicing to get better." - Galen S.
